Bürkliplatz Flea Market 2017
Saturday, May 6 marks the start of the 46th season of the renowned Bürkliplatz flea market in Zurich. In picturesque locations on the Stadthausanlage, Bahnhofstrasse and Fraumünsterstrasse, market traders and casual sellers ply their wares, offering a varied range of good-quality antiques, rare objects and curiosities. The flea market season ends on October 28.

11th Kreislauf 4+5
Along Langstrasse – in Zurich’s most flamboyant, individualistic and heterogeneous quarter – inventive ideas and creativeness flourish as nowhere else in the city. By participating in Kreislauf 4+5, held from May 20–21, 82 stores and ateliers from the spheres of furniture, home accessories, jewelry, shoes and fashion draw attention to themselves and their creative product portfolio – this year for the 11th time.

Blues In All Its Many Facets
Whether Swiss blues formations, musical insider tips, newcomers or international stars: the line-up at the 14th Blues Festival Baden treats visitors to a rich variety. The festival takes place in Baden from May 20–27. At the opening concert, the founder members of the legendary Swiss blues band, Freeway 75, celebrate a revival ‒ together with numerous big names from the Swiss blues music scene. Additional highlights include performances by 19-year-old guitar talent Quinn Sullivan, blues legend Eric Bibb, and the Anthony Paule Soul Orchestra.

42 Kilometers through Green Zurich
From May 21, 2017, the Green Marathon Zurich connects the city’s most picturesque green oases. The route can be covered as a marathon training course, a hike or a leisurely stroll. The best thing about the Green Marathon is that it repeatedly offers breathtaking views over the city and Lake Zurich. The trail starts and ends near to the Main Train Station. From here it leads to Adlisberg, over the Zürichberg, to the Panorama Trail on the Üetliberg, and then back again to the start. The numerous signposts ensure that even visitors who are not familiar with the area can easily find their way.

Blue Stars/FIFA Youth Cup 2017
At its 79th edition on May 24–25, the Blue Stars/FIFA Youth Cup once again boasts a high-caliber line-up. Reigning cup holder, Grasshopper Club Zürich, is setting its sights on defending last year’s title. Several-time Colombian national champion, Independiente Santa Fe, from Bogota is venturing across the pond with the intention of making a good impression in the City by the Limmat. 1. FSV Mainz 05 from Germany and Olympique Lyonnais from France will be participating in the tournament for the first time. Traveling from the land of the current UEFA European Champion, Portugal, is Benfica Lissabon, while RSC Anderlecht (Belgium) and West Ham United (England) will be representing two more major European soccer nations. Competing for Switzerland are St. Gallen, FC Zürich, Grasshoppers and host team Blue Stars.
