It's that time of the year again: Between 11 and 14 January 2018, the world's top show jumpers will meet once more in the city at the so-called Rhine-knee, where they will be competing in the indoor show jumping competition with the highest prize money on horses that are just as famous as their riders.

Every year, the three honorary societies of Kleinbasel, as the part of the city on the right bank of the Rhine is called, celebrate the "Vogel Gryff" festival, the festival of the griffon, an event enjoyed by young and old alike.

Georg Baselitz
Baselitz (born 1938) is one of the most important artists of our time. To mark his 80th birthday, Fondation Beyeler will be dedicating a comprehensive exhibition to the German painter, graphic artist and sculptor from 21 January 2018 onwards.

Basel's Fasnacht carnival is now officially on UNESCO's Representative List of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. One more reason for experiencing it live – over four days and three nights!
